Figments

The figments of her mind are stronger than my will. I must bow my head to her fantasies and keep her away, lest her illness will gnaw at my spirit. Her touch brings me down, drains my strength and leaves me confused. Failures and faults line up in front of me, like books on a shelf, when her despite hits at me. The past has twisted, the memories have broken, hope has fallen. I can't forsake, I can't carry on.
