Qohelet

Vedi, questo ho scoperto, dice Qoèlet, confrontando a una a una le cose, per arrivare a una conclusione certa. Quello che io ancora sto cercando e non ho trovato è questo: un uomo fra mille l’ho trovato, ma una donna fra tutte non l’ho trovata. Vedi, solo questo ho trovato: Dio ha creato gli esseri umani retti, ma essi vanno in cerca di infinite complicazioni. 

Behold, this is what I found, says the Preacher, while adding one thing to another to find the scheme of things— which my soul has sought repeatedly, but I have not found. One man among a thousand I found, but a woman among all these I have not found. See, this alone I found, that God made man upright, but they have sought out many schemes.
